The best part of rescue is the dogs you save and the people they touch. The worst part is the dogs you can't save, and the people you can't reach. Here is the story of how Albert and Mira came to us and their brothers and sisters who still need help.
And now meet the newest members of the GDG Foster Family:

Yesterday, on the 20th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Department of Justice released its Final Rule "in order to adopt enforceable accessibility standards." Within it is a round rejection of local BSL when it comes to ADA protections. In a blow to fear-mongering ignorance everywhere it basically said, "Thanks but your quaint laws have no power here. Move along."

On our first day back from our 9 day, cross-country tour with Leonidas! The Amazing 3-Legged Dog, we have a great Owner Profile: Kami and Cooper. Kami is a great owner and Cooper is a great dog. And by "owner" I mean "criminal" and by "dog" I mean "cerberus the three-headed guardian of the gates to the underworld." Enjoy!

Karma's Reunion: One Year After the Largest Dog Fighting Bust in History
She talks about a reunion she and her dog Karma recently attended for all of the dogs that have been adopted out from the dog fighting bust last summer that covered 5 states and over 500 dogs. GDG's Katie Bray was on location last summer where the dogs were being cared for to help the Humane Society of Missouri and Mutts n Stuff. It is where our little Laffy Taffy and Violet came from and where Martin was born before he was brought back to Kansas and promptly adopted. Laffy Taffy, Violet and Martin are all doing well and are even enrolled in our PIt Bull E.D.U. classes. Taking these dogs out of such abusive conditions to give them a second chance is a great chapter in a terrible story and one we are glad we helped write.

Here is Karma at the reunion sporting her very stylish GDG Doggie Tee.

In our ongoing effort to document the dredges of society (pit bull owners), we have unearthed Rachel and Mark. With a new daughter and 3 graduate degrees between the two of them, they aren't just making babies, they're making a better class of criminal. When I see that level of education and contribution to society, all I can think is "How in the hell do we keep these people and their dogs out of our community?" Bravo Overland Park. Cheers Denver. Way to weed out the miscreant Public Services Advisor and the no-good Chiropractor.
Also we would like to share an article from one of the volunteers at Pinups for Pitbulls. Fawna Blue wrote "The Pit Bull Problem: Where Do I Start?" for the New Jersey "Trentonian."
